Ten French cos confirm biz summit participation.
Ten leading French companies will participate in the fourth Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS). France is a partner country in the summit.
Consul-general of France Damien Syed said, “Culture and economy are intricately linked. It is our immense pleasure to announce the confirmed list of 10 French companies attending this year’s BGBS.
It’s exciting to have France as the partner company in this event.” He was speaking at an event at the BonjourIndia festival, a four-month event spread across 33 cities of India. The French companies whose representatives will attend the business summit are Capgemini, Matière, Dassault Systèmes, Firestein, JCDecaux, Kerneos, Decathlon, Schneider, Suez and Accor.
“Last year, only the French consul-general represented France at the Bengal trade summit. This time there will be a host of Frenchmen, who like the slogan of BGBS, will be here to mean business,” a source from the French consulate said.
Although the state government is yet to invite any Union minister for the summit, nearly 3,000 delegates from the US, France, Japan, Germany, China, Italy, Russia and the UK attending the event.
Last year, unlike in 2016, there were no central ministers attended the event. An official said this year would be no different as the Union ministers would tend to uphold Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s projects on the BBGS platform. The chief minister was playing it safe by getting businessmen from abroad,” the official said.
